4-door Chevy El Camino celebrates 100 years

Chevy El Camino: Over the years, there have been many layers of wonder and mystery added to the top of the American coupe utility segment.

Unfortunately, history is not as old as some would have us believe.

Of course, in the United States and Australia, the concept of two-door passenger cars with a bed in the back had been around since the 1920s and 1930s.

And they soon proved successful enough for automakers to carve out an entirely new niche just for them.

Then it was GM's turn to respond, releasing the legendary El Camino just two years later.

So how is anyone wishing “Happy 100th Anniversary to the Chevrolet El Camino!”

So far, it's digitally evolved into a rather weird Chevy Camaro sibling.
