New 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison Pickup

This new 2023 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison pickup is the roughest off-roader from the incredible GM brand.

So Chevrolet launched the trail-ready Silverado ZR2 pickup last year and now the company is going the extra mile and just unveiled a more extreme design with the new 2023 Silverado ZR2 Bison.

It was developed in collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles, so this new edition of the Silverado pickup was based on the successful Colorado ZR2 Bison pickup. Which was designed to be the “best truck for adventure and trails”.

So to claim that title, the Silverado ZR2 Bison was equipped with tough bumpers.

The bumpers are also designed to accommodate a winch which is available in the package.

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado Bison has unique 18-inch AEV wheels and sliders. However, the wheels are finished in gloss black, in addition to 33-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires.

Anyway, with all these changes, the approach angle is expected to increase from 31.8 to 32.5 degrees, while the departure angle should also improve slightly to 23.4 degrees.

That said, the pick-up's ground clearance is expected to remain at 11.2 inches (284 mm).

Another thing that doesn't change is the ZR2's impressive off-road kit collection that includes Multimatic DSSV spool valve dampers.

Silverado Bison also has the front and rear e-lockers. The car features a 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces approximately 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 460 lb-ft (624 Nm) of torque.

Buyers will also find Bison writing across the vehicle, as well as a stylish interior with AEV badges on the headrests and floor mats.

The Chevrolet Silverado ZR2 Bison pickup is expected to go into production early next year and prices will start at US $ 78,490, (approximately R$ 401,866.00) in direct conversion to BRL.

So that makes the pickup expensive, because the model costs about $$ 8,000 more than the 2022 Silverado ZR2.

In addition to the new ZR2 Bison Pickup, the 2023 Silverado also gets a fully updated six-liter turbo diesel engine.

Now in its second generation, the engine features new steel pistons, a new turbocharger, new fuel injectors and improved temperature and stability control features.

These upgrades allow the engine to produce up to 305 hp (227 kW / 309 PS) and 495 lb-ft (670 Nm) of torque, which is an increase of 28 hp (21 kW / 28 PS) and 35 lb-ft ( 47 Nm).

These are significant gains and should help improve what was already a favorite diesel engine.

This diesel engine is scheduled to be available by the end of 2022. Therefore, the pickup will continue to be equipped with a ten-speed automatic transmission system.

It will be offered in select versions of the car, including the Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ and High Country.
