To attack the French market, BYD (from Build Your Dreams) has three electric 100% models. The best seller must be the Atto 3 SUV, closer to the expectations of the French public. Thus, it stands out at the Mondial stand, with several copies that visitors will be able to see. At 4.46 m in length, it approaches a Peugeot 3008 in size and design. The exterior is very much in the canons of European vehicles, with in particular a taillight strip close to the Seat or Cupra productions and a quarter panel treated in contrasting colors like the Audi Q2.

On board, the cabin is much more original: shell-shaped dashboard, original door handles placed on round speakers, three-blade air vents or storage compartments made of red strings in the shape of a guitar. The set is qualitative, with clean adjustments and chic materials such as leather or aluminum. Livability is good, as the compact SUV offers generous space for passengers and a trunk volume that ranges from 555 to 1,338 liters.

Under the Atto 3's front hood, the single 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor is coupled with an unprecedented 60 kW “Blade” battery. This would allow driving up to 420 km of autonomy on a single charge, according to the manufacturer. The SUV is therefore a traction, and is currently not planned in all-wheel drive. On the performance side, 0 to 100 km/h is shot in 7.3 s, and the top speed is limited to 160 km/h.

Two other more premium models are included in the French range: the Han and Tang. The first is a large 5 meter long sedan next to a Tesla Model S. The second is a large 7 seater SUV. On the dashboard imitating that of a Mercedes, a large 15-inch touchscreen, common to the three models and rotating. Livability is good, with very good legroom in the back of the Han, which has no central tunnel. The trunk, on the other hand, is set back at just 410 liters (and without a tailgate) for the Han, versus 235 to 940 liters depending on the Tang's configuration, and up to 1,655 liters when the seats are folded down.

Both models have two electric motors (one on each axle) developing a combined power of 380 kW (517 hp). They are limited to 180 km/h from 0 to 100 km/h, it is reached in 4.6 s for the SUV and 3.9 s for the sedan. In the Han, the 85.4 kWh LFP battery offers a range of 521 km, depending on the brand. The Tang, smaller at 4.87 m in length but with 7 real seats, is associated with an 86.4 kWh battery that would offer approximately 400 km of autonomy.
