Tesla: almost 1 million cars sold in 2022
The American brand Tesla reports a record number of sales in the third quarter of 2022 and is approaching the middle of the cars sold this year. Sales are up again.
It is worth remembering that the second quarter was interrupted by the closing of the factory in Shanghai (China). The situation improved this summer, which allowed the American brand to reach a record level of deliveries over the course of a quarter, with 343,830 cars.
This balance would have been better if the Tesla had managed to deliver all the cars manufactured. In the last quarter, the factories assembled 365,923 vehicles. The vast majority are still the Models 3 and Y, the small sedan and its equivalent. SUV accounting for 345,988 cars.
While its production volumes continue to increase, Tesla indicates that it is struggling to secure the necessary transportation capacities at the end of each quarter. Added to this is the increase in transport costs that weigh on profitability. To deal with this situation, the brand is working on rebalancing production between the different regions, thanks in particular to the opening of factories in Austin (Texas) and Berlin.

In the first three quarters, the Tesla delivered 929,910 cars. Thus, it will easily exceed the threshold of one million copies sold this year, which it should even exceed by a lot, counting on the manufacturer to break records again in the last quarter of 2022. In particular, we await the start of deliveries of the Propulsion Y Model.
At the same time, Tesla announced that more than 10,000 superchargers were now available in Europe (35,000 worldwide, 3,500 stations), spread across more than 30 countries, including France, which has 1,500 superchargers (125 stations).

The best-selling models are the Model 3 and Model Y, which account for 345,988 cars of the quarter's total production. Performance that would increase even more when we know that Model Y Propulsion deliveries are about to begin. The total for 2022 will therefore easily exceed one million sales, with a fourth quarter that could equal or even exceed the third.
